MINUTE TO WIN IT GAMES
All of second grade teamed up to play Minute to Win it Games outside. We had wonderful parent volunteers and beautiful weather to enjoy a field day with our friends!
Poetry Cafe
As a last celebration of our writing, Team Ronzio held a poetry cafe. Students were our V.I.P. poets and had to enter our classroom on the red carpet. Everyone shared a poem they wrote and then there was an open mic session where students could read another poem of their choice. Thank you to everyone who helped make this cafe a success!
Field Trip to Runge Nature Center
On Wednesday, Team Ronzio went to the Runge Nature Center in Jefferson City. We saw an awesome show over predators and prey, had fun interacting with the exhibits, and enjoyed nature while hiking the trails.
Field Trip to Mizzou
On Tuesday, Team Ronzio went to the University of Missouri to explore different exhibits that correlate with our science units. We saw the geological science building, entomology museum, reptile exhibit, animals in Conservation Hall, and enjoyed a sweet treat at Buck's ice cream.

Preventing Wrinkled Hearts
Team Ronzio realizezd that everytime something negative happens to use, it leaves a wrinkle on our heart. In order to prevent wrinkles, we are going to think about what we say and make sure it is something respectful and nice. We want to prevent wrinkled hearts.
Mr. John Returns!
Mr. John returned to room 202 to talk to Team Ronzio about Cameroon, Africa. Team Ronzio was able to see where Mr. John was stationed while he served time in the Peace Corps. They also saw how life at home and school is similar and different to kids their age in Africa. Thank you Mr. John for taking the time to teach Team Ronzio!
Electronic Celebration! Team Ronzio earned 100 superstar points for following expectations, working hard, participating, and following directions the first time, so we decided to celebrate with an electronic game afternoon!
A Visit from Mr. John
Mr. John, a friend of Ms. Ronzio's, came in and talked to us about the importance of being healthy. We talked about how we can keep our bodies and minds healthy. Mr. John showed us what doctors see and hear when they give eye, ear, and lung exams. Thank you for coming to room 202 Mr. John!
CAUTION: LEPRECHAUN IN ROOM 202!
On St. Patrick's Day, Team Ronzio walked into room 202 to see a HUGE mess! Chairs and desks were turned over, our toilet was GREEN, glitter, paper, and pipe cleaners were EVERYWHERE! A sneaky leprechaun made our St. Patrick's day extra fun!
OLYMPIC FEVER
Inorder to stay up to date with the Olympics, Team Ronzio was divided into different countries (table pods). Each country had to record their country's medal count for the day so they could make a graph at school. Below are the graphs for the various countries. As a team, we all graphed the USA's medal count.
100 days smarter! (Celebrating the 100th day of school)
Team Ronzio created pictures using the number 100. Everyone was VERY creative and worked hard! Come to the open house to see your child's masterpiece!

Polar Express Day
Since our room was being painted during the last week of December. Team Ronzio had a Polar Express day. This day was filled with polar express activities and Ms. Ronzio even gave us hot chocolate and candy canes!!

Before dismissal, all Team Ronzio Superstars wanted a picture with Ms. Ronzio...We had a fun dismissal time!
I "mustache" you a question!
While studying non-fiction mentor texts, we noticed that some authors use a question and answer text structure to present information to the reader. We decided to try out our question and answer skills on a subject that we are experts on. To increase the engagement and add some creativity to our question and answers, we decided to create "mustache" questions. Enjoy our pictures and mustaches below...but come to our holiday open house to see our question and answers!
Mid-day brain break
SO many friends had pink on today...we had to capture it! Team Ronzio took a break from their studies to take some fun and crazy pictures. (We have some talented photographers and models in class)

Check out our new "read box" bookshelf! The read box holds our Children's Choice Books. These books rotate throughout Paxton so all students have the opportunity to read them. Custodian Day!
October 1st was Custodian's Day. We celebrated by writing thank you notes to our amazing custodians to let them know how much they are appreciated! We also gave them cookies as a sweet treat. :)
